Rescue5 Releases Public Service Plugs for Safe, Hazard-Free Holiday Celebrations

Rescue5, TV5’s acclaimed Emergency Response Unit, gives Kapatid viewers one of the best and most practical gifts they can receive this Christmas – a series of public service interstitials or plugs that show how to celebrate the holidays safely and how to properly respond to any emergencies that may occur.

The videos, which will be aired regularly throughout the holiday season on TV5, AksyonTV and Radyo5, focus on probable emergencies such as fires due to substandard Christmas lights, choking on small toys, firecracker injuries, and even heart attacks due to the holiday stress and unhealthy food feasts.

“More than giving material things, we thought it would be best to impart to our Kapatids some helpful knowledge that they can use in times of emergencies. It is probably the most valuable gift we can offer them this Christmas,” shares TV5 Public Service Head Sherryl Yao.

On top of these plugs, Rescue5 has also prepared an early Christmas treat to nearly 600 children who were recently affected by Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) in Bulusan, Sorsogon. This week, the team will conduct a disaster preparedness and holiday safety demo and will be distributing the Rescue5 specialized activity book on disaster preparedness to the kids.

Along with the Rescue5 activity book, Rescue5 will also hand out 72-hour survival kits or backpacks containing emergency devices and school supplies. The team will also be distributing sacks of joy provided by PLDT Smart Foundation and Gabay Guro.

Rescue5 can be reached via its hotline 9225155, Twitter account @RESCUE5PH, and Facebook page www.facebook.com/RESCUE5PH.
