Based on data from Kantar Media last Saturday (November 15), “MMK” garnered a national TV rating of 30.7%, or 8 points higher than the score of GMA’s “Magpakailanman” (23%).

Aside from winning the TV ratings game, the episode also dominated Twitter as its official hashtag #MMKTacloban became one of the trending topics worldwide. Netizens took on the microblogging site to share their thoughts how they were touched by Jomar’s love for his family and his unshakeable integrity.

Meanwhile, “MMK” will continue to touch viewers’ hearts through an empowering drama episode this Saturday (November 22) starring Sunshine Cruz.

Sunshine will portray the role of Cynthia, a loving wife and mother who puts her family’s welfare over her happiness. She wants her family intact so much that she endures her miserable life with her abusive husband who is unreasonably jealous, overprotective, and possessive even with their children.

Will Cynthia find the courage to stand up for her children when she discovers they have become victims of domestic abuse by their own father?

Also part of the episode are Gardo Verzosa, Sue Ramirez, Janus Del Prado, Nikki Valdez, Kristel Fulgar, Isabel Lopez, Joshua Dionisio, Alexa Macanan, Nathaniel Britt, Kyline Alcantara, Margareth Nico, Jacob Dionisio, Jeffrey Hidalgo, and Onse Tolentino. It is directed by Raz De La Torre and written by Arah Jell Badayos and Benjamin Benson Logronio. “MMK” is led by business unit head Malou Santos and creative manager Mel Mendoza-del Rosario.

Capturing the hearts of Filipino viewers all over the world for the past 23 years, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” has legions of fans from different generations who cried, laughed, fell in love, and got inspired through the real-life narratives of the show’s letter-senders.
