International value hotel group Tune Hotels continues to boost its presence within the UK market with the highly anticipated opening of its Newcastle hotel.

Situated in the heart of the city centre, the 104-room hotel is the latest in Tune’s portfolio offering 5-star beds at great value prices, and savvy travellers can now take advantage of prices from only £25 per room per night.

The global chain, which already has four hotels in London and another on the way in Canary Wharf, as well as one in Edinburgh, confirmed Newcastle as its sixth property in the UK as it looks to expand its unique, no-frills, value concept to capitalise on the city’s growing leisure tourism market.

The hotel situated in the city centre near the Quayside officially opened its doors on 17th October. It is located in Proctor House, a listed building which has had the original mosaic tiling restored and persevered in the corridors and stairwells. Just 600 metres from the Newcastle Central railway station, it is also conveniently situated for those visiting St. James’ Park, Angel of the North or the Newcastle University campus.

The Tune Hotels’ promise is to offer guests great value rooms with high-quality basics including excellent beds, powerful showers, central locations, a clean environment and 24-hour security. Unlike other hotels, you only pay for the non-essential facilities and services if you use them – ensuring a fair price no matter what time of the year you visit. Prices across the Tune Hotels’ UK network start from as little as £25 a night for a double or twin room and using a demand based dynamic pricing system, guests are encouraged to book early online to secure the regular promotional prices and special offer.

“Newcastle is a vibrant city and full of eclectic people and places, perfect for Tune Hotel’s newest location” said Mark Lankester, Group CEO of Tune Hotels. “Our aim is to have a further 25 hotels across the UK in the next five years and this commitment with our partners represents a significant investment of over £200m,” continues Lankester. “As an entrepreneurial company, it is not about being the biggest: we are an urban fun brand, ideally suited to city centres where guests want to get out and about to explore or need a central location if on business or leisure that won’t break the bank. We will be targeting the major business cities across the UK such as London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, as well as looking at key university cities where our concept has proved very popular.”
