Eugene Domingo’s role as Marilou in the period drama “Barber’s Tales” is a far-cry from what she is known for. The Diamond Comedy Queen has long arrived as a versatile actress. She has proven countless times that she can make her audience tip over in laughter, but at the same time, make them shed tears if need so.
“Barber’s Tales” will show the audience a different kind of Eugene. Her role in this film is so inspiring and moving, that women will see themselves in a much better light, as important enablers in society.
Eugene admits that the role was “very challenging, but director Jun Lana was very helpful in letting me get into character of Marilou.” Furthermore, she says that the role “speaks of me as a woman and as a Filipina–who courageously steps out of the comfort zone to make life better not only for me but people around me.”
From being a great comedienne to a serious dramatic actress, Eugene only proved that her acting ability is beyond question and it has even brought her recognition worldwide.
