Angel Locsin to Reprise ‘Darna’ Role in a Big Star Cinema Movie

After almost a decade, Angel Locsin is set to fly as "Darna" once again but this time in a "big" movie to be produced by Star Cinema!

To be helmed by Erik Matti, the “Legal Wife” star described this project as “big” and “monumental.” Here’s what she has to say in an interview with abs-cbnnews.com:

“Naku, you have no idea kung gaano kalaki! Kasi kahit ako, nagulat, eh. Hindi niyo (Star Cinema) ‘yan sa akin sinasabi. Sabi ko, ‘Sandali lang, ha. Ganito pala kalaki ito?’ As in, never ako naka-experience ng ganito kalaking project, o nakarinig man lang.

“First time ito. First time ito sa buong history ng Pilipinas,” she said.

Angel is very grateful for the Mars Ravelo creation because the role opened many opportunities for her and her career flew sky high because of “Darna.”

“It’s official, nasa sa akin na ulit ang bato!” the 29-year-old actress said.

The long wait is over!!! mapapanood ko na soon!!! why i am excited? coz? i really misses her wearing those costume and the face itself!!! and of course the fighting scene!11 ang astig!! at ang bagsik!! parang babae na nasa loob ang pagiging lalaki!!1 grabe the best talaga tong si angel locsin noon sa darna!!! hindi ko pinapalampas to gabi gabi … pero comapre sa recent grabe nakakatulog ako dahil ang lamya walang dating!!! iba talaga kapag angel locsin ang darna!!! kaya i am happy .. yes!!!!! sa wakas!!!! i hope magiging masaya at mapapanood rin ito sa mga new generation!!!! dahil iba ang image ni angel losin noon!!! pinaka astig at pinaka bigatin ang dating sa akin wow na wow ako sa kanya1!!!!

    To be fair okay na Darna din naman si Marian. Pero compare kay Angel, very foreigner ang dating ni
    Marian.
    Filipina Super-Heroine si Darna at bagay lang na ang gumanap ay Pinay na Pinay look. Maganda si Marian–no
    doubt about that. Si Angel lang mas swak sa character. Sana was na silang pag-awayin.. Excited na ako sa movie

    Another movie from Star Cinema.. And its Angel Locsin! San ka pa! Samantalang ang GMA films isasara na daw sa sobrang pagkalugi. Mga kanguso fans kasi hinihintay lang lumabas ang pirated dvd or ipalabas sa free tv! Hindi marunong pumila at gumastos sa sinehan!

    hay naku hindi makamove on ang mga haters. gagawin ang lahat ng mga kasinungalingan. but sorry to say angel is here to stay. huwag na kayong magbabad dito. buti pa panoorin ninyo ang idol nyong si Marian sa Eat Bulaga at matuwa naman siya sa inyo. hahahah. nakakatuwa siya doon at pakendeng kendeng hahahah !!!

    According to ABS this movie will be their highest produced film not only in Star Cinema but in the history of philippine movies. They also hired experts behind the camera abroad by using high caliber effects like man of steel. Looking forward for this movie, its been a long time when the last movie was seen on the big screen. This will be the highest grossing film of Ms. Angel Locsin in the making, no doubt for that.

    Tinanggalan na sya ng karapatang maging darna. Hanggang sa ilusyon at sa nakaraan na lang ang kanyang pagiging darna.
    D nya kasi keri ang costume.
    Pang- kontrabida kasi ang tabas ng mukha.
    Lalangawin lang kasi sa takilya pag sya ang gaganap sa papel na darna.

Flop yun angel na musmo ang nagsabi.. ung kuya it was solid hit at the box office way back in 2002 singles gross 12 million on its pilot week…means it was a modest hit.. wag kang tanga
