James was born in Australia and he grew up in Hong Kong. 7 months ago, he emailed an audition video to GMA Network for the now defunct reality show “Anak Ko ‘Yan” and immediately received a reply inviting him to come to the Philippines because he made it as one of the finalists.
Although James did not win the show (he only made it to Top 5), his vocal prowess got the attention of GMA Records and with the help of GMA Artist Center and E-Talent Management, the Filipino-Australian lad is now a full-fledged recording artist!
Last week, GMA Records released James Wright’s self-titled debut EP with the infectious “Sana’y Ikaw” as the carrier single. There are four other songs in the EP, all of which are Filipino love songs like “Babe,” “Ikaw Yon,” “Kung Hindi Ikaw,” and “Ako’y Sa ‘Yo”–all helmed by industry veteran Vehnee Saturno. Also included in the EP are the minus one version of the five songs which fans can sing along to.
