Much buzz has been given to Jasmine since she renewed her exclusive contract with her home network, TV5, last December. The Kapatid princess also caught the eye of many film and entertainment critics on her role as Yael, a young Filipino-Israeli struggling between the conflicts of her cultures, in the Cinemalaya Best Picture,Transit. The young Curtis bagged the Best Supporting Actress award for the said role while Transit became the country’s official entry to the prestigious Academy Awards.
To date, Jasmine is busy in her first-ever hosting gig on ‘SPINNation’ which got extended to another season due to insistent public demand (the show trends on Twitter every Saturday night). She also did Studio5 Original Movies’ made-for-TV film ‘The Replacement Bride’ with Brazilian-Japanese hunk Daniel Matsunaga. Jasmine, along with her co-actors, received a lot of praise and raves on her portrayal as the quirky girl Chynna, proving that she can also do light roles as much as she can do heavy drama.
With a new year on the way, Jasmine commits to do more challenging roles that will enhance her versatility as an actress.Aside from SPINNation, she is busy filming the much-anticipated psycho-thriller Dementia with the one and only Superstar, Ms. Nora Aunor. TV5 also has lots in line for the young artist, starting with her self-titled “series-within-a-series” JasMine. Truly, the past year and the years ahead are filled with so much blessings for Jasmine. And with her family, friends, ever-loving fans and her Kapatids supporting her in every step of her career, the young actress says she has nothing more to ask for.
