‘Red Alert’ Shows Life-Saving Tips in Bus Mishaps

Broadcast journalist Atom Araullo shows what commuters can do in case the bus they are riding suddenly meets an accident this Friday (Mar 28) in “Red Alert.”

Data show that in the Philippines, about 350,000 commuters ride buses every day. In 2013, 6,000 casualties in bus incidents were reported, and just last February, a bus fell off a cliff in Mt. Province and a bus tilted along SLEX.

What can you do in situations like these? Should you jump out of the window while the bus is still moving? Is there a place inside the bus where you can get the least amount of physical injuries?

Atom answers these questions first-hand as he shows viewers practical tips to save themselves inside a tilted bus. Victims of the Florida bus crash also recount their near-death experiences in the episode.
