‘Pretty Little Liars’ to be Adapted on PH Television this 2014
Are you familiar with the characters Aria, Spencer, Hanna, Emily and Alison of the hit teen drama “Pretty Little Liars”? They’re going to have a Filipino counterpart as TV5 gears up for the airing of the local adaptation of the said US mystery TV series to Philippine primetime.
Top-billed by TV5 homegrown talents Sophie Albert, Chanel Morales, Stephanie Rowe and introducing Daniel Lee, PLL revolves around a group of friends who mourn over the death of the leader of their clique (to be played by Valeen Montenegro), hoping that their secrets go to the grave with her.
“Pretty Little Liars” Philippine version is set to premiere on the second quarter of 2014 as a weekly primetime series on TV5.
In the name of all things shiny, PLEASE NO. It’ll be your total doomsday TV5. Are you even aware that there are gay characters in the series??Who would effin do that in your so called PLL adaptation? Who could give justice to Em’s character? DUH?? And just what, mauuna pang malalamn ng pinas kung sino tong pasosyal na A na to? haaay naku naman. YUng Little Mermaid ng Disney na nga lang ang i’adapt nyo since naglipana naman ang mga SIRENA ngayon sa tv.
i’m an avid fan of this tv series..and this is one of the best tv series i’ve ever seen….well i’ll be honest..i’m against of this idea…sobrang napakaganda ng tv series na ito…and i think…walng makakapantay sa original cast nito…it’s just too good to be remaked…
O__O! Pano yung mga LGBTQ characters? Once-closeted-but-Super-gay Emily? Evil [and apparently—allegedly—maybe bi-curious] Allison? Bisexual Maya? Pano ipapalabas sa RP ito?
Emily and Maya’s first kiss was in the 3rd episode of the 1ST SEASON! A used that against Emily and it was an important plot for Em’s growth. How will TV 5 do this? A lame kiss on the cheek?

opinyon ko lang ito ha no bad intentions po. Masyado na kasi redundant may novel na, tapos may tv adaptations pa. Naisip ko lang bakit hindi yung mga sariling atin kagaya ng ginagawa ng Ibang bansa ung mga comics at novel inaadapt nila sa tv at big screen like marvel at dc. Meron tayong Carlo J. Caparas, Mars Ravelo, at marami pa. Kung sa scifi o fantasy lang naman meron tayong Sanlakas: Darna, Captain Barbell, Panday, Diyosa, Dragona, Tiny Tony, Dyesebel,Valentiina, Galema, Lastikman, Bernardo carpio, combatron at sobrang dami pang iba kagaya ng adaptation ng KKK, Noli Me tangere at al filibusterismo pwede nga lagyan ng modern twists. Madami din tayong drama novels na award winning. yun lang po maeexplain ko labyu all

Stop it TV5..or if you wanna take thid shameless risk then you should have chosen the famous and veteran leading ladies of the Philippines. Those versatile bida-kontrabida veterans like Anne Curtis, Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes, and Andie Eigenmann or KC Concepcion and many more. Or you can also get GMA’s better actresses.Fyi, it’s all because they are fit for the characters of PLL. But then of course you don’t have them so better stop than giving those starlets a shot that will make them flop big time. And it will make your network lose another money. Sorry not so sorry! Reality bites!

I’m a huge PLL fan ever since! I love to be a Filipino but adapting this massive high rating show will not work at all. Think of the possibilities.
if you dont like the Filipino version then dont watch. WE are excited for this. IM gonna watch for sure its a big hit.
No offense tv5 but this will surely blow big time and remember PLL has a vast numbers of fans so if you guys still want to continue this then it will be an ultra humiliation for you and your network. All those actresses are very beautiful but just doesnt match the face and characteristics of aria, hannah, spencer, emily, and ali.

They should have finish the US version first before jumping into this risky decision. PLL fans are expecting to still have season 5 and 6. Mukhang mas mauuna pa itong matapos kaysa sa original version. Result: mas mauuna ang mga Pinoy kung sino si “A”. This is really not a good idea 🙁 Sorry.
I highly doubt that it’ll be successful. also, the teacher-student plot will most likely be scandalous to a lot of people.

I think it’s wrong to do this when the current series is till airing. It will be such a disrespect. I wonder how the the whole cast and Sara will feel regarding that. I think we’re not yet ready to make one. People will always compare since we know how awesome Pretty Little Liars is.

This is one of the reasons why creativity is dying in the Philippine media. Why don’t they make their own story and try to make it a hit instead of “adapting” something they couldn’t top off.
