Then came the movie “The Reunion” which gave me the chance to meet Enrique Gil in person for the first time during a chat session in Bunker Bar. He was an image of a young boy who is ready to swoon teenage girls with his charms.
Months later, the public began to see the other side of Enrique. He can dance. And he is very good at it. Aside from getting massive attention while portraying the slightly antagonist BJ in Gerald Anderson’s soap “Budoy” and as Jao in “Princess and I”, Enrique marched his way to being a bankable young actor with his weekly appearances on ASAP. He then appeared as part of the main cast in horror movies “Amorosa” and “The Strangers” before hitting big time in the box office with Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes in “She’s The One”.
Last night at the Araneta Colesium, Enrique proved once more that he is one of ABS-CBN’s hot talent properties after filling in the Big Dome with screaming fans on his first dance concert “King of the Gil”. I’d like to call that first as with how the audience in and out of the venue reacted, there’s got to be a next one.
