Some people say she’s on vacation. Others believe she’s busy doing a “Rated K” special for the Yolanda aftermath. Now, rumor has it that Korina Sanchez received a 1 year suspension from the big bosses of ABS-CBN for attacking Anderson Cooper in her morning radio program on DZMM.

Here’s an excerpt from Philnews.ph

Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez is suspended for one (1) year by ABS-CBN’s program TV Patrol and DZMM according to an article posted by Bandera News, after getting the collective ire of the people when she criticized Anderson Cooper’s reporting on super typhoon Yolanda.

According to Bandera news reporter Alex Brosas, there were rumors that with what she did to the CNN reporter she was suspended for one or two weeks, so that’s the main reason why she is no longer seen on prime time news program TV Patrol.

Bandera reported that a much bigger sanction was given to Korina Sanchez, according to rumors, she is suspended for one year from her radio and news program.

  1. Never underestimate someone whom you really don’t know because it may backfire on you or in other words just learn to zip your mouth instead of being a destructive critic.

  2. Good for her!!!!I hope the Lopez’s have the balls to let her go.

  3. don’t mess with Anderson Cooper , he might be the next president of the United States of America!

  4. Some of the comments here in defense of that third rate wannabe Sanchez are quite dismal.

  5. Good for her!

  7. My opinion, everyone is entitled of “ANOTHER CHANCES.” People makes mistakes, I am not here to judged Korina Sanchez, if she did is wrong she has to apologized that is all. Hindi na yata mahalaga ang SORRY ngayon, I am also a half American and if you said sorry to an American they do not keep grudges they will understand and also they will appreciate your effort of saying sorry. My only comment here: We are in the middle of disaster but what i read in the comments of the filipino people here is downgrading their fellow filipino. Crab Mentality imbis na makiisa at magtulungan. Korina is Filipina kaya kung napahiya siya napahiya na rin tayo. Wag ninyong sasabihin disgraced at kinahihiya nyo sa as a Journalist, she is not a disgraced, if you really loved this country you do not criticized your fellow filipino like that. Be grateful because other people helping us like Anderson Cooper. They are being good to us. We owe them big time!!! wag natin dagdagan ang sugat ng bayan. Napoles tapos itong Yolanda tapos si Korina. better we shut our mouth and just do something for this country. Action is better than WORDS!

  8. We have freedom of speech, we have to speak up our mind, we cannot be puppet . Korina is tactless but not ground for suspension if it is true. I do not live in the Phils., Anderson is my favorite anchorman of CNN, give Korina a chance, do not create a\ mountain out of a mole hill.

  9. Huh? Bandera? Hahahaha! Walang kwenta! it’s a LIE

That’s unfair for suspending her, we have our free speech.we are not in the communist country.if she said it wrong to Anderson Cooper so be it.people make mistakes.

that’s why when you make mistakes, you suffer the consequences.

  11. Korina did not a mistake, she is just depending the national government because she was the wife of Sec Mar Roxas, who was there to assess the calamity area. A Cooper also did not make a mistake, he is just reporting what he see’s on the calamity area / ground zero. What was the big mistake are the first responder or the local government who were supposed to take responsibility on their constituents that became victims. If they were the victims themselves, their ignorance and stupidity is a crime. That was A Cooper reporting about. Why were other areas are better than Tacloban?

  12. Well I think it’s more unfair to the other news reporter/correspondents who are just telling the truth of what they see and what the government should be doing. We are no different from Japan, they also have earthquakes and typhoons one after the other, but the government of Japan is acting quickly to go to the most devasted areas to offer some assistance/help right away. Not waiting for 5 days where all the victims are already dead or just nearly dead. So to those people who are saying where’s the freedom of speech? Think again, everybody can speak their mind, but don’t be abusive…

I am not a fan and will never be a fan ..but I think it’s stupid to suspend him for criticizing Anderson Cooper.
I fully understood Korina when she reacted to Cooper”s criticism..She was reacting as a wife who knew for a fact that her husband was in Tacloban even before the storm struck and I suppose not hearing from fyour husband for 2 days because of communication failure stressed her ..
I also would like to believe that she was getting an update from Mar Roxas about the progress of the relief and rescue effort., so hearing a foriegner say that the relief and rescue effort was slow and disorganized made her react the way she did ..

Yes it was not fair, we have freedom of speech she didn’t do anything wrong. Pabalikin si Korina mabait naman siya.

free speech doesn’t give anyone the liberty to downgrade other people , more so if you’re a journalist , there is what we call responsible reporting and commenting

  18. Hoy nila arago which side are u on…shes soooo unprofessional what freedom of speech u talking about???hope they suspend her without pay thats good for her ok lang yon di ba malaki naman sweldo ng asawang gago rin

  19. Indeed i agree with Nila; just for commenting with cooper? Come on..she just said her opinion and she’s entitled to it..we aint china; that is why we have democracy !!!

She’s got BIG head, alright. But she’s got SMALL mind inside that big head.
Who cares about her anyway. Never then, NEVER will.

  21. That’s unfair for suspending her, we have our free speech.we are not in the communist country.if she said it wrong to Anderson Cooper so be it.people make mistakes.

  22. suspended for one year? napaka exaggerated naman sina Bossing kung totoo man yon…bakit di na lang nila i hire si Cooper
