For the next couple of days, we should be seeing the progress of Ariella Arida while competing at Miss Universe. But as she arrives in Moscow, Russia, something might just steal her focus from the competition--the fight of her suitor and a controversial radio host.

Model Ervic Vijandre and Mo Twister are on a Twitter and Instagram war yesterday after Mo aired out his opinion on Arida’s ‘latinas-can’t-speak-a-sentence’ comment on ANC’s Headstart. Upon asked by netizens on her communication skills, Arida explained that speaking in English is not important. The Miss Universe-Philippines cited an example that latin-speaking contestants are having a hard time speaking in English but they are still successful in the pageant. “Latinas cannot even speak a sentence… I mean complete a sentence… in English,” Arida remarked where she added at the latter part of the interview that it’s really about “who you are as a person.”
