‘My Puhunan’ Features Former Mechanic Who Now Designs for Luxury Fashion Houses
Broadcast journalist Karen Davila reveals the secrets to success of businessman Ramir Bonghanoy, a former mechanic who now designs bags for luxury fashion brands in ABS-CBN’s “My Puhunan” this Wednesday (Oct 23).
In 1993, Ramir started making necklaces, earrings, and other accessories from seashells. He invented “Radica,” a style of inlaying metal and shells that made his company Bon Ace popular.
Ramir has also been tapped by high-end fashion houses to come up with designs for their clutch bags. His company also provides furniture for hotels and restaurants in the Philippines, US, and even Europe. His patented Radica table has also garnered attention after being bought by luxury brand Hermes for their flagship store.
In “My Puhunan,” Ramir helps 20-year-old student Christopher Ubaldo, who gets his daily baon from selling and making necklaces and bracelets, by giving him an on-the-spot training in accessory making.
