7.2 Earthquake Hits Bohol, 30+ Dead

A major 7.2 magnitude Earthquake was recorded near Bohol early Tuesday morning, October 15, 2013.

The quake was recorded two kilometers south of Nueva Vida Sur in Carmen town at 8:12am, according to the US Geographical Survey. It had a depth of 33 kilometers, initial report says.

Residents of Bohol and its nearby province, Cebu also posted on Twitter that they also felt the tremor.

However, no need to worry about Tsunami as of this posting as there was no threat of a Pacific-wide tsunami after the quake, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii.

UPDATE: As of 12:12pm, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) recorded a total of 20 fatalities in Bohol and Cebu due to the earthquake that also destroyed churches and world heritage sites in the area.
