Nora Aunor Loses to New Child Actress at the CineFilipino Festival Awards Night
During the launch of the 1st CineFilipino Festival last week at the Resorts World Manila’s Performing Arts Theater, members of the press believed the Best Actress category was uncontested.
Until the arrival of Superstar Nora Aunor at the red carpet of the CineFilipino Awards night at the Genting Club of Maxim’s Hotel on Sunday, September 22, everyone is still expecting her to win Best Actress for her performance in the Mes De Guzman’s film “Ang Kwento ni Mabuti.”

But when the name Teri Malvar was announced as the winner of Best Actress, the audience got a surprise look on their faces as if asking the question in unison: “who is she?”
Teri is the lead child actress in the acclaimed film “Ang Huling Cha Cha ni Anita.” She plays a twelve-year-old country girl who falls in love with a grown up woman played by Angel Aquino, who by the way, won Best Supporting Actress for the same film.
Moreover, “Ang Huling Cha Cha Ni Anita” was tied with the Aunor-starrer “Ang Kwento ni Mabuti” in the Best Film category.

Bakit award ang pinaghihimutok ng mga fans? Sana ang isipin nila yung box office naman maganda raw ang acting at movie pero lagi namang flop walang nanonood.yung iba salita lang ng salita wala namang magawa sa takilya ewan ko sa inyo!!!
for me, i’m happy for both of them! nora reaping awards here and there, lalo na international awards, that means world class pala ang mga artistang “filipinoes”. and for teri that’s a start. di ba mga “filipinoes” .
ganito na lang mga kababayan! if teri wins another award outside philippines (minsan wala na rin ako bilib sa ilang mga judges sa pinas) then their decision is right!
the jurors are comprised of both local and foreign panelists. magaling daw talaga yung teri, fresh approach to acting. deserving. nora was good din daw, di lang daw talaga award-winning level and much less effective than vilma’s brilliant ekstra performance.

well, for me, hindi naman porket hindi kilala ang nanalo ay questinable na agad sa inyo na bakit??? ang tingin ko deserving naman cia sa titulo na yun,,, at irespeto natin ang mga judges …. hindi porket may name ay talo na ang walang name… just watch it!!!

Kung mata-mata acting ang gusto nyo, dapat next movie ni nora ay “The RING”.

ok lang yun. nora has plenty of awards na hindi lang local, international pa. ang importante top grosser naman ang movie niya. Thank God.
the judges here at cine filipino (i mean the filipino judges) cannot stomach the continued success of Nora Aunor up till now, considering the different best actress plums she is reaping globally! ….their envious of the superstar status which remain unkaboggable! …un lang!
