Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs Bryan Termulo, brought warm cheers from 300 pregnant women as he performed in 11th Buntis Congress in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan recently.

The singer-actor was applauded as he sang top teleserye, Juan dela Cruz’ theme songs, “Sa Isang Sulyap,” “Kailan” and “Dadalhin” for them, while DZMM anchor Ahwel Paz, brought laughter as host of the whole-day event.

Health experts, served as speakers, joined forces in the event to nurture and enrich future moms with knowledge they need in motherhood. DZMM OB-Gyne and anchor Dr. Bles Salvador discussed how mothers should deal with pregnancy before, during and after it occur to them, Tuguegarao City health officer Dr. James Guzman talked about health and nutrition services, National Nutrition Council’s Jovita Raval, Midwives Foundation of the Philippines vice president Elizabeth Dumaran taught the the importance of birth emergency plan and birth registration, Department of Health’s (DOH) Dr. Leticia Cabrera tackled the essential of newborn care, DOH’s Infant and Young Child Feeding coordinator Dr. Shari Ludovina Sabalvaro gave guidelines on breastfeeding and complimentary feeding; and Population Commission regional vice president Oscar Abadu, Jr. gave reminders on family planning and responsible parenthood.

Tuguegarao mayor and chairperson of the municipality’s nutrition committee Jefferson Soriano, and DZMM head of special projects May Valle Ceniza welcomed the attendees.
With its dedicated and concerned local health workers, Tuguegarao boasts that no maternal deaths caused by child birth recorded in the city in 2012 until this August.

Meanwhile, DZMM Traffic Angel Tina Marasigan, taught kids lessons about good values via TLC (Teaching, Learning and Caring) classroom and clinic-on-wheels as she conducted storytelling sessions to students of Pasong Tamo Elementary School in Quezon City held recently. Simultaneous with the other activities, consecutive storytelling and leisurely reading was conducted in the DZMM mobile library, where attentive kids enjoyed treats as they answered questions after each book was read.

Medical, dental, dermatology assistance and free reading glasses were among other services also given to the students and their parents in Pasong Tamo Elementary School. And while waiting, patients and students were fed by Mario’s Kitchen, Feeding Metro Manila. DZMM TLC partners are the medical team from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Ideal Vision, Prime Skin Care Asia at ABS-CBN, Philippine Dermatological Society, Lingkod ER and Pilipinas Shell Foundation.
