Marco was born in New York, USA but his family is from Nueva Ecija. His family moved to the USA to try their luck there. Despite growing up in America, Marco’s parents instilled Filipino customs and values in him. They always let him participate in activities organized by the Filipino communities.
While growing up, Marco experienced bullying. His peers would always call him names, but he refused to fight them back. Because of this, he lost his confidence and always asked himself what’s wrong with him.
During a family trip to Disneyworld, he saw a Chinese yoyo (diabolo). He got so interested in it that he spent his time in their basement watching YouTube tutorials.
He got a chance to perform in school and the school director even invited him to teach girl scouts and younger kids to play the yoyo. Performing redeemed his confidence and he earned respect from people.
When they went back to the Philippines, he performed his talent in front of his lola. His lola told him to audition for Talentadong Pinoy.
He is very glad to have made it this far in the competition. He wants to win because he wants to introduce Chinese yoyo to the Philippines and inspire other kids as well.
Watch Spyro Marco perform one last time in the “Battle Royale” of Talentadong Pinoy Worldwide this Sunday, August 18, 7:00pm at the Cuneta Astrodome with live telecast on TV5.
