Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan Anchors DZMM’s ‘Kapamilya Konek’

Celebrity mom and parenting advocate Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan ventures into radio to help families resolve their issues and strengthen their bond via DZMM’s newest program “Kapamilya Konek,” which begins this Sunday (April 21) at 5 PM.

Maricel returns to being a Kapamilya to deliver public service and relevant discussions weekly, which she said is a rare opportunity that has been given to her by DZMM.

“When the program was offered to me, I was elated and excited about the whole idea. It sits well with what I do and stand for – being on media and reaching millions with our advocacy,” she said.

Maricel is known for being a hands-on mom to her five kids and has published three children’s books. She finished her Master’s Degree in Family and Life Development from UP Diliman and is active in topics concerning health, balanced nutrition, and education.

The program’s regular segments include “Payong Kapamilya,” an on-air discussion of family problems with live guests seeking advice and resolution with the help of professional experts.

In “Konek sa Korek,” Maricel refers individuals to an organization and government or private agencies that can help provide information and expertise on their inquiries.

The highlight of the program, meanwhile, is “Kapamilya Konek” where families who are separated by poverty, work, or circumstance will be reunited through phone patch, video call, or by providing them free sea, air, or land travel.

Also featured in the program is “Itanong kay Teacher Tina,” where educator Tina Zamora takes on issues surrounding the school life of kids, and “Family Friendly Ito!” which gives tips and ideas for budget-friendly, safe, and fun activities the whole family can enjoy.

Maricel, an award-winning actress, added that it is a big responsibility for her and her husband Anthony Pangilinan’s family to be viewed as a role model by other Filipino families.

“It is an honor that comes with great responsibility and pressure. We aren’t perfect but we do take our parenting seriously. We have many advocacies but one that is closest to our hearts would be teaching children to look up to their parents as role models,” she added.

Don’t miss “Kapamilya Konek” with Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan on Sundays, 5 PM on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), and dzmm.com.ph. For updates, like www.facebook.com/kapamilyakonek or follow @konekkadyan on Twitter.
