GMA-7 Wins Peabody Award for ‘Reel Time’ Documentary

GMA-7, the only Philippine network to bag the prestigious Peabody award, has won another one!

An episode of the GMA Network public affairs series “Reel Time” is among the 39 recipients of the 72nd Annual Peabody Awards, considered among the most prestigious and selective prizes in electronic media by the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The winning episode titled “Salat” (Bone Dry) tackles the plight of malnourished children in the country.

The awarding ceremony will take place at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on May 20, 2013.

“Reel Time,” the Kapuso Network’s highest-rating documentary program that features stories that startle, enlighten, and provide viewers with fresh perspectives on social issues that persist in the Philippines, airs every Sunday night at 8:45pm on GMA News TV.

GMA Network last won the George Peabody Award in 2010 courtesy of the I-Witness episode “Ambulansiyang de Paa.”

    When i watched this little girl Mary Rose Hisole “REEL TIME” episode,she really touch my soul,my heart broken into pieces, my tears never stop falling, I can see myself to her back when i was her age, By God’s will when i go back to Philippines i hope i can meet her personally..
