Jessica Amornkuldilok Wins 1st Asia’s Next Top Model Title

Jessica Amornkuldilok, 27, from Thailand bested 13 other models throughout the region for the first ever "Asia's Next Top Model" title. Stephanie Retuya from the Philippines was runner-up.

On the final episode of “Asia’s Next Top Model,” the Top 3–Jessica from Thailand, Stephanie from the Philippines and Kate from Taiwan–did a commercial for Canon IXUS, posed for a magazine cover and hurdled the final runway challenge. No less than Top model franchise owner Tyra Banks graced the runway show.

During the judges’ final deliberation, somehow it was made clear that the title was between Stephanie of the Philippines and Jessica from Thailand and that Kate from Taiwan is a lock for 3rd.

Tyra Banks compared Jessica for being a model verb for performing very well in all the challenges; and Stephanie for being a model noun for possessing “the looks.” They were quite unsure with Jessica at first because she’s a bit old (27) to start a modeling career but her consistent performance throughout the competition (she’s the only contestant to have never hit the bottom two) was enough for her to win “Asia’s Next Top Model.”
