Paulo Avelino is back on primetime television via "Kahit Konting Pagtingin." But he’s current role is far different from the previous one; a complete 360-degree turn from the serious and mature character that he portrayed in "Walang Hanggan".

It is Paulo’s first romantic-comedy serye. He’s playing the character of Lance, a happy go-lucky guy who will deal with a love triangle affair opposite to his brother ‘Adam’ (Sam Milby), with the young and funny lass named ‘Aurora’ (Angeline Quinto).

Paulo admits that he needs to do a lot of major adjustments for the show because it’s a light character that he needs to portray, which is completely different from his former dark role. Nonetheless, he is very thankful to be given such a new opportunity.

“I wanna be versatile as much as possible,” he remarked. When asked if he prefers drama over romantic-comedy, Paulo expressed that he’s still trying to learn the ropes of how rom-com works, so he doesn’t have a final say. Also, he wants to try different characters and he’s fine switching from one role to another.

As he welcomes another year in his already very successful career, Paulo admits that he still does plan things out and makes sure that he is on track. “I have plans for 2013, career wise and personally. Marami akong pinaplano but I wanna concentrate first on ‘Kahit Konting Pagtingin’. At siguro I will spill the beans about my plans once the show is finished,” he commented.

His recent teleserye “Walang Hanngan” was such a phenomenal hit and he was able to bag the title of “Breakthrough Actor of 2012”. He garnered critical acclaims fromm the entertainment groups, the press and the Filipino audience on his performance on previous show as well. Paulo has become one of the most bankable stars in the country then. As he was given a big break as early as now for ‘Kahit Konting Pagtingin’, without a doubt that the Kapamilya team has its full trust on such an exemplary talent that Paulo Avelino is. Now that he seems to have landed the top, does Paulo consider himself as one of the bests? “Hindi ko po dinidibdib na isa na akong magaling na actor, dahil marami pa po akong dapat matutunan,” he humbly commented.

When asked on how he manages to stay so grounded despite the fact that the spotlight can really be blinding especially on young actors like he is, “Ako, I can’t really explain. Pero I think if you really love what you do and be as professional as possible, fame won’t really eat you up,” he remarked.
