14th Cinemanila International Film Festival Kicks Off December 4

the 14th Cinemanila International Film Festival is happening in Taguig for the third time.

This year’s edition of the festival will feature the usual roster of films fresh from A-list international film festivals all over the world and local feature-length films in competition in the Digital Lokal section and local shorts films in competition in the Young Cinema section.

Some of the highlights of this year’s festival are The Young Cinema Night outdoor screening at the Bonifacio High Street on December 7 and the Red Carpet Harana Awards Night at the BGC amphitheater on December 8.

Some of the international entries this year include Mexico’s “Post Tenebras Lux,” Bangladesh’s “Television,” Lebanon’s “Kayan,” Korea’s “Juvenile Offender,” Thailand’s “36,” France’s “Apres Mai,” and Japan’s “Flashback Memories.”

Entries from the Philippines include Lav Diaz‘ “Florentina Hubaldo,” Sherad Anthony Sanchez‘ “Jungle Love,” Richard Somes‘ “Supremo,” Gym Lumbera‘s “Taglish,” Arnel Mardoquio‘s “Ang Paglalakbay ng mga Bituin sa Gabing Madilim” and Raya Martin‘s “The Great Cinema Party.”

Cinemanila’s 14th edition will open on December 4, 2012 and run from December 5 to 11 at Market! Market! Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

“Ang Prinsesa, Ang Prinsipe at si Marlborita” (The Princess, the Prince and Marlborita) by Carl Papa

“Kabilang Dulo” (The Other End) by Bienvenido Ferrer III

“Unawa” (Sympathy) by Pamela Llanes Reyes

The following prizes will be awarded: Best Short Film and Ishmael Bernal Award
