Lovi Poe Cries after Doing a Love Scene with Paulo Avelino in ‘The Bride and the Lover’

Lovi Poe is currently filming the most daring movie of her career titled "The Bride and the Lover" which will co-star her with Paulo Avelino and Jennylyn Mercado.

After starring in two horror movies this year–“Guni-Guni” with Benjamin Alves and the box-office hit “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles” with Dingdong Dantes–Horror Princess Lovi Poe is slated to star in another thriller before the year ends. Her third horror movie for this year is “Shake Rattle and Role 14,” Regal Films’ entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival where she will co-star with Vhong Navarro.

But the Kapuso actress is not just for horror movies as she also have two drama offerings helmed by award-winning directors.

The first one is the Brillante Mendoza-artfilm “Thy Womb” (Tagalog title: “Sinapupunan”) where Lovi plays support to the one and only Superstar Nora Aunor. The said movie premiered at the 69th Venice International Festival in September where it won 3 critics awards. And last week, it was announced that “Thy Womb” became an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The second drama movie that Lovi is currently filming is the controversial “The Bride and the Lover” which is slated to be shown on February 2013. The said movie is currently being dubbed as the “sexiest” and “most-daring” film that the three of its lead stars–Lovi with Paulo Avelino and Jennylyn Mercado–have ever made. It’s under the direction of Joel Lamangan.

During a pocket interview hosted by GMA Artist Center on Monday, November 20, at the 17th Floor of GMA Network Center, Starmometer and other members of the entertainment press were able to ask the “Yesterday’s Bride” star about this so-called “sexy drama” project that she’s currently filming.

Since “infidelity” has been a trending theme in Philippine cinema, does “The Bride and the Lover” follows this emerging genre?

“It’s not an affair film, it’s nothing like that,” Lovi clarified.

But is it a love triangle?

“Love triangle, oo, but then it’s about friendship din. Actually, basically it’s about knowing sino ba talaga ang dapat maging honest sa iyo ‘yung bestfriend mo? Sino ba dapat ang hindi mag-cheat sa ‘yo ‘yung bestfriend mo o ‘yung lover mo, parang ganun. Saan ka mas masasaktan, kapag ang nanloko sa ‘yo ‘yung bestfriend mo o ‘yung lover.”

So who’s who? Sino ang bestfriend, lover at bride?

“‘Yun ung twist ng story, you don’t know who’s the bestfriend, who’s the lover and who’s the bride. It’s up to you e, magkakaroon ng sariling perception ang viewers. Once you watched it, ‘yun ang maganda e, may sarili kang opinion at ikaw ang mamimili kung sino ‘yung lover and sino ‘yung the bride,” she replied.

Aside from the hard-hitting dialogues between Lovi and her female co-star Jennylyn Mercado, “The Bride and the Lover” will also highlight steamy love scenes between the Horror Princess and “Walang Hanggan” star Paulo Avelino.

In fact, in one love scene that they recently shot for the movie, Lovi broke into tears after doing it. In an interview by Chika Minute for 24 Oras, the Kapuso actress admitted that she cried after doing the love scene with Paulo because she did not expect that it’s going to be intense.

“Hindi ko siya kinaya talaga. Honestly I cried after. But then this one is just…Sabi ko nga after this movie I will rest muna from doing sexy…medyo naano ako, nabigla,” she said.

It’s interesting to note that it was in the 2009 movie “Sagrado Pamilya” where Lovi did her very first big screen love scene. However, it wasn’t her who cried after doing the scene but her partner Felix Roco.

Meanwhile, Lovi Poe is currently seen on GMA-7’s “Yesterday’s Bride” opposite Rocco Nacino. The much-talked about soap opera airs Monday to Friday, after Eat Bulaga!
