Jeric Medina Gets the Boot on ‘The X Factor Philippines’

Following Kedebon Colim's elimination last week, another mentee of Martin Nievera gets the boot.

Daddy’s Home, who sang Phil Collin‘s “Against All Odds” for their survival, joined Jeric Medina in the bottom two. The 21-year-old Don Bosco student belted Aerosmith‘s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” as his bid for the judges’ votes.

During the judges’ deliberation, Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera voted in favor of their mentees as expected. Pilita Corrales voted out Daddy’s Home but Charice voted out Medina which resulted to another deadlock. This means the one who will go home is the contestant who received the lowest number of votes from the viewers.

KC Concepcion revealed the results: Daddy’s Home got 19.63% of the votes, while Medina, a first-timer in the bottom two, received only 16.74% leaving some members of the audience in disbelief. Even KC said the result was “unbelievable” because Medina is one of the most popular “X Factor” contestants and fans of the show thought the title was between him and KZ Tandingan.

“Jeric, I didn’t expect you to leave the contest tonight. I really didn’t,” Concepcion said.

Martin Nievera, expressed his support to his eliminated mentee.

“There were no losers on this stage but there can be only one ‘X Factor’ champion. I’m very proud of you and I will be behind you wherever you go,” he said.

The final bout for the title is happening on October 6 while the first ever winner of “The X Factor Philippines” will be announced on October 7.

Will it be KZ Tandingan? Or will Gabriel Maturan, Allen Jane Sta. Maria or Daddy’s Home pull an upset?
