Anne Curtis and Gerald Anderson Named Peace Ambassadors by Malacañang

Anne Curtis and Gerald Anderson, both Kapamilya stars, were named National Peace Ambassadors by Malacañang.

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Quintos Deles announced that Kapamilya stars and two of the country’s top product endorsers–Anne Curtis and Gerald Anderson–will be hailed as National Peace Ambassadors on the launch of the “I Am for Peace” campaign this Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Malacañang palace. Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap will join Anne and Gerald in this endeavor.

“Coming from diverse industries and backgrounds, the Peace Ambassadors will unite for one meaningful cause: peace,” Deles said.

No less than President Noynoy Aquino will annoint the three celebrities and other chosen personalities in tomorrow’s launch.

In line with this year’s celebration of the peace month, the “I am for Peace” campaign seeks to engage all sectors of society in sustaining support for the country’s peace process and strengthen the government’s peace building platform. It will also mobilize social engagements and information dissemination especially on the significant developments and milestones of the on-going Mindanao peace talks.

Aside from Curtis, Anderson and Apl.de.ap, a number of renowned personalities/celebrities were also named “Peace Ambassadors.” They are actors Derek Ramsay, Epy Quizon, Megan Young, and Mikael Daez; recording artists Christian Bautista, Karylle, Sam Concepcion, and Gloc-9; social media icons Ramon Bautista and Kimpoy Feliciano; composers Noel Cabangon and Ebe Dancel; Moro artist Datu Khomeini Bansuan; fashion designers Arnold Galang and the Fashion Design Council of the Philippines led by JC Buendia; comedians Kiray Celis and Igi Boy from the teen program “Luv U”; sportsman and TV host Rovilson Fernandez; and members of the national football team, Philippine Azkals.
