Two-Faced Cat: Forget the Hoax, This Siamese Cat Really Got Two Faces

Two-Faced Cat: This is the face-off of two viral two-faced cats. One is named Venus and the other, Frank and Louie.

This photo of Venus, the supposedly two-faced cat, became viral on Facebook. And as of this posting, Venus’ video on YouTube uploaded by the proud owner who goes by the username VenusMommy has already accumulated more than 800,000 hits.

Venus is a chimera with a split face: black with a green eye on the left side, orange-tabby with a blue eye on the other.

Some netizens claim that Venus is hoax and the left side of her face was just painted in black. Others say it was just photoshopped.

But Venus proved them wrong by appearing on the Today Show with her owners on Wednesday.

Here is the viral video of Venus from YouTube:

Meanwhile, Venus is not the only two-faced cat that became a trending topic recently.

Meet Frank and Louie. The siamese cat who really got TWO FACES!

According to the Associated Press, a rare two-faced cat named Frank and Louie has lived for 12 years because a good samaritan adopted the cat and saved him/them from being euthanized because of his condition. As you can see on the photo above, Frank and Louie do really have two faces with two mouths, two noses and three eyes. In the face-off of two viral two-faced cats, Frank and Louie win, hands down.

Frank and Louie made it into the Guinness World Records as the longest-surviving member of a group known as Janus cats, named for a Roman god with two faces.

Apparently, janus cats almost never survive because of their congenital defects. Their condition makes it difficult for them to eat. Sometimes they get milk in their lungs and die of pneumonia. Some of them slowly starve to death.

But thanks to Frank and Louie’s owner–Marty Stevens–the two-faced cat survived all obstacles and was able to live for 12 years.
