One Minute Movie Review: The Expendables 2

"The Expendables 2" is a crowd-pleasing action movie that guys will love and even the female moviegoers will enjoy.

Main Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth, Dolph Lundgren
Director: Simon West
Genre: Action
Released by: Viva Films
MTRCB Rating: R-13

Movie Info: The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal… Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. –Lionsgate

The Positive: Expendables 2 is an entertaining action movie filled with fight scenes, car chase, gun shots–all the things you want an action movie should be. There’s a little bit of humor and a hint of romance (and Liam Hemsworth) for the ladies.

Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Norris are unintentionally funny at times and I think it’s a good thing.

The Negative: Even the atrocious punch-lines can deliver laughs. Quality-wise, don’t compare it to the “Bourne” series, it’s just your regular action flick–no more, no less.
