Miss China Wen Xia Yu bested 115 contestants from around the globe and emerged as the winner of Miss World 2012 on Saturday at Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

This is the second time that China won the title at home, the first was when Zhang Zilin bagged the crown in 2007 when the pageant was held in Sanya, China.

23-year old Wen Xia Yu hails from Liaoning. According to the pageant’s official website, the 1.78m tall Chinese beauty studied music, and would like to become a music teacher someday.
