Kapuso actress Jackie Rice is once again on the cover of the local edition of the men’s magazine FHM. This is her second time to be in the same spot, the first one being in January 2010.

Jackie is also once again a part of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World list this year landing on the 7th spot. How does it feel to be described as “sexy”?

“Ayokong maging mayabang in a way, pero hindi ko naman po pinu-push ang sarili ko para maging sexy pero ibang tao ang nakakapansin nun. Happy ako dun kasi diba wala naman akong ginagawa para pansinin as sexy pero napapansin pa rin,” she said.

Jackie credits her more frequent TV appearances recently in her home network, GMA-7, for her inclusion in the list.

“Siguro kasi mas visible na ako sa TV. Mas pinapakita kong deserving din akong tumaas yung ranking ko [kaya] siguro nagustuhan na rin ako ng tao,” she said.

Jackie’s second FHM cover is more daring than the first one, and it really shows her almost perfect figure albeit in a very classy fashion. Was doing the shoot easier for her this time around?

“Nakakailang in a way dahil hindi lang yung photographer yung nandun, maraming tao. Pero hindi naman ako nahihiya kung ano ang meron ako,” shared Jackie.

On Sam Pinto being the ‘sexiest’

This year’s sexiest list placed another Kapuso star Sam Pinto in the no. 1 spot. Does Jackie believe Sam deserves her place as this year’s Sexiest Woman in the World?

“Of course naman. Siya po yung binoto ng mga tao ngayon and I think she deserves it. Nakikita ko rin naman ang nakikita ng tao sa kanya. Sexy talaga siya inside and out,” said Jackie.

Apart from landing on the sexiest list, another thing that Jackie and Sam have in common is that they both appear in the weekly comedy/gag show Bubble Gang. Jackie says that although they are not that close, there is no competition between them.

“Hindi kami close na lumalabas, pero hindi kami magkaaway. Sa taping nagbo-bonding naman kami pero hindi kami yung super bestfriends ganun pero hindi kami magkaaway.”

Her afternoon soap “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?”

Jackie currently stars in GMA’s afternoon soap, “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?” in which Michael de Mesa and son Geoff Eigenmann are her leading men. How is it working with them?

“Masaya sila parehong ka-trabaho. Kay Direk Micheal (de Mesa) marami kang matututunan, kay Geoff naman magagwapuhan ka habang ka-eksena mo siya,” Jackie said.

“Pag ka-eksena ko sina Geoff, Direk Michael at si Angelika parang lagi akong kinakabahan kahit isang buwan na kaming nagte-taping kasi ang galing nila, wala akong masabi,” she added.

Jackie admits that she is challenged by her role in the afternoon soap. In the said series, she falls in love with the character of Geoff but after being tested by fate, she opted to marry Michael de Mesa’s character – a rich businessman – to somehow help his family out of poverty. She did not know that the man she married is the father of the love of her life (Geoff).

The complex storyline demands superb acting and this puts so much pressure on the young actress. Nevertheless, Jackie is still thankful for the opportunity that was given to her.

“Ang hirap ng role ko, sobrang nape-pressure ako. Pero masaya ako kasi nabigyan ako ng chance na gawin yun kahit mahirap kasi I’m sure lahat naman ng artista ngayon gusto kung ano man yung break na katulad ng binigay sa akin, so thankful pa rin ako,” she said.

Jackie is also thankful to his leading man, actor-director Michael de Mesa, who according to her gives her some pointers in acting during tapings.

“From Direk Michael de Mesa ang natutunan ko yung isipin ko na ako talaga yung character na ginagampanan ko. Nagbibigay sila ng tips na sobrang malaking tulong para sa akin,” said Jackie.
