Synopsis: Rock of Ages tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. The Positive: Catherine Zeta-Jones’ infectious presence is a testament that she’s an Oscar-winning performer. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is irresistible. The individual efforts by the cast make this musical watchable and entertaining.

The Negative: I was expecting Shankman to surpass his “Hairspray” glory but he didn’t. Nevertheless, the film is nostalgic with a feel-good ending.
