‘Mr. Acoustic’ Paolo Santos to Perform in ASOP Music Festival’s Weekly Finals

On Sunday, June 17, four composers are going to compete with each other for the win in ASOP’s last weekly finals for this month. Paolo Santos, among other artists, is going to interpret an RnB style song of praise.

Though the genre of the song is somewhat not his forte, he says, he really likes the song and he hopes to be invited again to sing for ASOP.

Other accomplished singers are going to join “Mr. Acoustic” with their own songs to interpret like Anna Melissa (vocalist of the band, ‘Arko’), Manny Aquino (member of the top vocal harmony and entertainment group, ‘The Tux’) and Charity Grace Walthrop (the voice of ‘Kiara’ in the second installment of the ‘Lion King’).

All four song entries are exceptionally written by composers who have their own reasons of giving praise and thanksgiving to God. Included in our line-up is “Ngayon, Bukas at Magpakailanman” (by Sheryll Villanueva), “You are My Life” (by Melchor Morala, a second-timer), “Walang Katulad Mo” (by Marie Antoniette Pineda), and “Be My Everything” (by Jessa Mae Gabon who first appeared in ASOP as an interpreter).

“There’s nothing more beautiful than songs of praise,” says Rannie Raymundo who is one of our judges in the said weekly elimination. He has no regrets in accepting the invitation to participate in the competition and he also wishes to come back in ASOP. Joining him in the panel is the singer-actress, Ms. Beverly Salviejo and veteran composer, Mr. Mon del Rosario.

ASOP Music Festival Songwriting Competition is aired over UNTV 37 (Your Public Service Channel) every Sunday at 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The program is hosted by Mr. Richard Reynoso and Ms. Toni Rose Gayda.
