Angeline Quinto Murders the Jennifer Holliday Song ‘And I Am Telling You’ on ASAP
Both Party Pilipinas and ASAP 2012 in their May 27 episode paid tribute to Filipino-Mexican singer Jessica Sanchez who emerged runner up in the recently-concluded season 11 of American Idol.
But what became talk of the town was Angeline Quinto‘s rendition of Jennifer Holliday’s “And I Am Telling You” which garnered nasty comments from netizens.
If you will check out the VIDEO, Angeline’s rendition was “all over the place.” We expect her to kill it, knowing her vocal prowess and all, but instead she “murdered” the song.
Is it a case of lack of rehearsal?
Some netizens shared their two cents on Twitter regarding Quinto’s performance and they described it as “disaster,” “flat,” “no emotion,” and “lackluster.” However, there were also those who thought otherwise giving the performance a two thumbs up.

It was all over the place. It’s a case of a good singer singing the wrong song. The song was not fit for her. Sarah and Rachel Anne Go could do it but Angeline cant.

hindi naman talaga maganda ang boses ni Angeline, ganda lang ang mukha pero walang quality ang boses.

I heard that song of AQ, it was not good, why she sang this song aND IT IS NOT MATCHED to her voice, and it is out of pitch.
I just really think Angeline is only good in Tagalog songs.. But she does lack emotions..

Angeline is a good singer pero may problema lang sya sa diction and she good compared to BASURA JIRONIMOW na sobrang TH kumanta at LIPSENGERA!

REGINE VELASQUEZ is just so brilliant and so as KYLA whe they sing TAGAALOG or ENGLISH songs.

Sorry to say, sa PP walang kang makikitang mga performances na same old boring and predictable artist na wala namang boses at puro LIP SYNCH at saka nakakasuka, ang DAMING PANGIT at BAKLA!
I have nothing against Angeline pero nakakahiya sya singing this song. Pero mas okay na to kaysa kay Basura Jironimow na lagin na lang LIP SYNCH para sabihing kagaling eh kahit pagbuka pa lang ng bibig eh ang chaka na ng boses.
Atleast LIVE kahit pangit ang pagkakanta ni Angeline.
Sana di na lang nya kinanta to kasi sobrang hype pa at only Regine can do justice and other PP DIVAS lang ang may kaya nito. With feelings and the voice that coulld launch a thousad miles.

I guess she is not in the condition to sing that day because of her
hectic schedule due to her overloaded appointments. But for me she
nailed it despite her condition. Yes, her voice is shaky and also the
consistency to her low notes is poor, but I do not agree that the
emotion is insufficient. Her condition that day is not good but she
tried to give her best for the viewers to appreciate her effort of
singing the song.
So maybe, if she will be given a chance to sing it
again in a good condition, she’ll give justice to the song and make a
stand against those negative criticisms.

bumalik cya sa pag aral or mag pa tutor cya ng speech and diction sobra kasing hindi bagay ang title niya as in nakakahiya oo nkakabirit cya pero ang batayan ng isang magaling na singer hindi basta birit lang kailangan pagkumanta ka din may emotion maswerte lang s AQ dahil pilit pinapasikat cya ng ABS pero kung tutuusin mas marami pang magaling..ang ibang tao kc walang taste dahil nkkabirit magaling na kahit ang pag bigkas ng word mali…hayy!!kawawa tayong pinoy walang improvements tapos sasabihin worldclass kakhiya marinig ibang lahi sa “DICTION” palang kahiya na sabihin tlaga ito ba ang singer ng pinas? aminin niyo yan wag mag bulag bulag bulagan kya hindi tayo umuunlad …mag aral cya un lang para sakanya man din yan hindi para sa atin..
