Cancelled Shows 2012 – ‘The Secret Circle,’ ‘One Tree Hill’ and More

Cancelled Shows 2012: Desperate Housewives recently aired its bitter sweet finale after 8 seasons; The Secret Circle has been picking up a cult following but CW ended its first season--the series finale--with a cliffhanger, WTF?!

There are shows that debuted in 2011 that were understandably cancelled this 2012 because of poor ratings. These shows are Charlie’s Angels, Missing, Pan Am, Work It from ABC; A Gifted Man, How to be a Gentleman, Unforgettable from CBS; Alcatraz, Allen Gregory, Breaking In, The Finder, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, and Terra Nova from Fox; Awake, Bent, Best Friends Forever, Free Agents, Harry’s Law, The Playboy Club, The Prime Suspect and The Firm from NBC; and The Secret Circle, H8R and The Ringer from the CW.

Old time favorites were cancelled too like Desperate Housewives, House, Chuck, One Tree Hill and CSI Miami.

Good thing my personal favorites have been picked up for new season(s). These shows are The Vampire Diaries, The Lying Game, Switched at Birth, True Blood, Smash, and The Walking Dead.

And also, we can expect high rating shows like New Girl, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, American Idol, The X Factor, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and Glee to last for a couple of years more!

Here’s the complete list of cancelled shows for 2012 per network:

6 Comments on Cancelled Shows 2012 – ‘The Secret Circle,’ ‘One Tree Hill’ and More

  1. “One Tree Hill” was NEVER cancelled! The show itself had just ended. What the hell are they talking about?! The CW never cancelled the show!!!

  2. I love Nikita thank god it was renewed the secret circle was really performing badly and its just on its first season. Also keep in mind its after the vampire diaries which is the CW’s most watched show while Nikita does not have a lead in

  3. Haha. Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Glee. :]]

  4. WHAT?!!!!!  I “CAN NOT” believe that “Harry’s Law” has been canceled!  That is a fantastic show.  I absolutely think “whoever” needs to rethink that decision.   I’d much rather have “The Vampire Diaries”, “True Blood” and/or “The Walking Dead” be canceled. They are NOT realistic, nor entertaining.
Please, “Rethink” your decision about “Harry’s Law”.

P.S.  You know, we baby boomers have supported networks for many years, and all those Vampire- Blood sucking shows that are coming out are unenjoyable and ridiculous.  Please leave something more realistic like Harry’s Law on and take off that “Vampire and Bats” stuff and save it for Halloween.

  5. Nikita has already banked several seasons. Reaching season 5 would open the show for syndication, which, after all is also a big business other than advertising revenues.

  6. The surprise was that Nikita (1.8 million viewers, 0.6) was renewed over freshman seriesSecret Circle (2 million, 0.9). Most expected one of the two to get a pickup, but the newer and higher-rated show seemed more likely to survive.
