Brian Viloria Beats Omar Romero, Retains Flyweight Crown

Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) flyweight title after beating Mexican rival Omar Niño Romero at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The stint was sweet revenge for Brian Viloria who was fighting Omar Romero for the third time.

Viloria lost to Romero in August 2006. Later that year, they had a rematch which ended to a draw.

Third time’s a charm for Viloria who dominated Romero throughout the fight and ended the bout during round 9 to a technical knockout victory.

Viloria now has a record of 31 wins (17 kos), three losses, and a draw. Romero, on the other hand, drops his record to 31 wins with five losses and two draws.
