First Teenage Mermaid on Philippine TV Makes a Big Splash this Monday

Primetime TV’s first-ever tween mermaid is all set to make the biggest splash this summer as ABS-CBN’s newest fantaserye "Aryana" joins the winning roster of primetime drama series on Monday (May 7).

Topbilled by 2008 FAMAS Best Child Actress Ella Cruz, the much-awaited fantasy tale features the adventures of a typical teenager named Aryana (Ella) whose life makes a full twist on her 14th birthday as a dark curse turns her into a mermaid.

According to Ella, she is nervous and excited at the same time for the much awaited premiere of her biggest break. “Viewers will love ‘Aryana’ because this is a new tale of everyone’s well-loved character,” she said. “This time, they’ll see a modern teenager ‘sirena.’ She’s a normal mortal in the beginning then she’ll become a mermaid because of a curse.”

Ella added that Kapamilya viewers will surely enjoy the ride with Aryana as she takes everyone to the challenging world of humans and the colorful paradise of the mermaids. “Aryana’s story is fit for all ages. It’s perfect for tweens like me and to kid, adults, and parents alike since it carries different lessons on family, love, and environmental awareness,” she shared.

Together with Ella in “Aryana” is its powerhouse cast composed of Pokwang, Tonton Gutierrez, Desiree del Valle, Laurice Guillen, Tetchie Agbayani, Giselle Toengi, Rustica Carpio, Lotlot de Leon, Bianca Manalo, Chokoleit, Michelle Vito, David Chua, Boom Labrusca, Marvin Yap, Louise Abuel, and Paul Salas. It is under the direction of Erick Salud and Lino Cayetano.

Don’t miss the premiere of the much-awaited fantaserye of ABS-CBN, “Aryana,” on Monday (May 7), before “TV Patrol” in Primetime Bida. For more updates, log on to www.abs-cbn.com or follow @abscbndotcom on Twitter.
