Get to know more about the Filipina who is highly expected to make waves on American Idol season 11. Will she become the first contestant with Pinoy blood to win the prestigious reality singing competition?

Jessica Elizabeth Sanchez, born in 1995, is half Filipino-half Mexican/American singer from Southern California. According to reports, She is one of this year’s Top 24 qualifiers on American Idol (official announcement to be aired later this week).

Jessica is most known for her wild card appearance on the first season of America’s Got Talent that aired on NBC during the summer of 2006. That performance has since been viewed more than 5,000,000 times on Youtube alone. According to her Facebook page, Sanchez is friends with fellow half Filipino/Mexican-American Jasmine Villegas (Justin Bieber’s ex), vocalist and fellow AGT contestant, YouTube artist and American Idol finalist Thia Megia (who is pure pinay), The Beat 2008 Music Awards Winner Elise Estrada and American Idol season 8 finalist Allison Iraheta. Sanchez did a callaboration with Villegas and Megia on Mariah Carey’s Hero (Check out the video here).
