Undiscovered PHL Wonders in ‘Krusada’ this Thursday

Veteran journalist Charie Villa will pioneer trips to some of the country’s unfamiliar and undiscovered destinations and promote them through the Internet travel portal ‘Choose Philippines’ this Thursday (Jan 12) in “Krusada.”

Charie, the news head of the ABS-CBN Regional Network group (RNG), will trek the less popular but breathtaking spots in Laoag, Pagudpud, Burgos, Bangui and Adams in the Ilocos region and pinpoint the factors that hinder tourism growth in these places.

Based on data, a single foreigner touring in the country generates jobs for ten Filipinos. Investing in lesser-known spots in the country would increase economic opportunities for Filipinos and ‘Choose Philippines’ is a great platform to help locals advance their livelihood, Charie said.

She stressed, “The role of tourism is to grow opportunities and revive livelihood but Philippine tourism is facing beautiful problems. I’m saying beautiful problems because they can be solved if only we point them out to the people and the government.”

The ABS-CBN RNG launched the ‘Choose Philippines’ website (choosephils.com) in April 2011 to give both Filipinos and foreigners accurate and up-to-date information about the places, local delicacies, products, and culture in the country.

Discover the beauty of the Philippines and be one with Charie’s crusade this Thursday (Jan 12) in “Krusada.” Because it takes more than words to take a stand, watch it after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN, or earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 PM.
