Asiong Salonga Story Sweeps MMFF Trophies

Asiong Salonga Story (Manila Kingpin), the action movie among the MMFF entries this year, was the big winner during the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night on Wednesday held at the Resorts World Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.

“Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga” bagged the awards for Best Picture, Best Director for Tikoy Aguiluz (sans the controversy), Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Award, Best Supporting Actor for John Regala, and a handful of technical awards.
