Brian Viloria Beats Giovanni Segura, Defends WBO Flyweight Title

Brian Viloria defeated the formidable challenger Giovanni Segura today, December 11, during the "Island Assault 3" at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The 31-year-old Fil-Am fighter successfully defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) flyweight crown which he just won five months ago after defeating the hard-hitting Giovanni Segura, 29, who has a fearsome record of 28 wins, 24 of which are knockouts.

“The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria stopped Segura during the eighth round of their fight and bagged the biggest victory of his career.

Viloria’s now holds a record of 29-3 (16 knockouts).

The heavily-favored Segura of Bell, California now stands at 28-2 (24 KO).
