Pinky Webb and Alvin Elchico Anchor All-New ‘TV Patrol Weekend’

Two of the country’s distinguished broadcast journalists, Pinky Webb and Alvin Elchico, will be anchoring ABS-CBN’s flagship primetime newscast “TV Patrol Weekend” starting Saturday (Nov 26) and Sunday (Nov 27) to bring you the biggest and latest news stories relevant to the Filipino households.

Bringing in their experience covering wide-ranging topics, Pinky and Alvin will deliver news and information geared towards enabling viewers with news and information, provoke discussions on socioeconomic issues that may have been neglected by the government and society, empowering consumers about their rights, and providing features that will help Filipino families achieve a work-life balance.

Pinky will also banner eye-opening accounts on everyday problems and issues often ignored by the government in “Kulang sa Pansin.” In her first report for “Kulang sa Pansin,” Pinky will help an old, jobless widow with no children apply for a senior citizen card.

“The new assignment is challenging and I am very excited to anchor ABS-CBN’s primetime weekend newscast,” said Pinky, who also co-anchors ABS-CBN’s weekly investigative program “XXX” and ANC’s “Mornings@ANC.”

Meanwhile, Alvin will educate the public to become wiser, vigilant, and pro-active consumers in “Tapat na Po.” The segment will tackle consumer issues from oil prices to bogus promos to shopping tips. When you sum it all up, we are all consumers and consumer issues relate to us more,” Alvin said.
Alvin introduces “Tapat na Po” by exposing the truth behind group buying sites that have been getting complaints for their apparently sham travel deals.

“TV Patrol Weekend” will be launching the new segment “Applyan Mo,” wherein it will be announcing the different job opportunities here and abroad to be provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

Another infotainment treat for the family, “Miss Ko ‘To” will take you all over the archipelago through photos of different travel destinations and recipes from the “Choose Philippines” website, an online resource put up by the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group with up-to-date information on the country’s places, food and culture.

Alvin brings his years of experience as ABS-CBN’s business and consumer news reporter to the weekend newscast. Alvin currently anchors “Konsyumer Atbp” and “SRO” on DZMM and the medical current affairs program “Salamat Dok” on ABS-CBN on weekends. He started as a news anchor of “TV Patrol Bacolod” in the 1990s.

Don’t miss the new “TV Patrol Weekend” every Saturday, 5 to 5:30 pm and Sunday, 6 to 6:30 pm on ABS-CBN, or watch its live streaming on abs-cbnnews.com/tvpatrollive.
