Rocksteddy collaborates with Quest in the Coca-Cola Music Studio.

Are you familiar with the artist called “Quest”? If not, it’s the stage name of Filipino Contemporary Christian rapper and vocalist Jose Villanueva III.

Last year, he launched his debut CD called Revolution, which according to him, took 11 years in the making. The first single off the CD is called “Back to Love,” an old-school jam rich in harmonies and infectious beat not to mention the positive message that it would like to instill to its listeners.

To get more familiar with this amazing artist, check out the music video for his song “Back to Love.” You’ll be surprised that it contains cameos from popular recording artists like Richard Poon, Sam Milby, Yeng Constantino and PGT’s Markki Stroem.

Now let’s talk about the second artist in the new mash-up: Rocksteddy.

Rocksteddy is an alternative rock band who was formerly known as Acoustic Faith. The group is composed of Jeff Cucullo (Drums), Christian Sindico (Bass, vocals), Juven Pelingon (Guitar) and Teddy Corpuz (Lead vocals).

In 2005, The band became popular for their singles “Lagi Mo Na Lang Akong Dinededma,” “Gising Na,” and the Close Up Jingle “Smile at Me.” In 2007, the band launched their sophomore album with their single, “Break Na Tayo”. In 2009, Rocksteddy launched their 3rd album, “Ayos Lang Ako”, with their single “Boy Kulot”.

Rocksteddy chose “Gising Na” as their song for the mash-up and it’s quite interesting because just like Quest‘s “Back to Love,” it has a fun beat with a positive message to boot.
