Open happiness and watch the highly-anticipated collaboration of Champ and Kitchie Nadal for Coca-Cola Music Studio titled "Bulong ng Hanging Habagat!"

If last time we checked out Champ’s music video for his song “Hanging Habagat” as well as Kitchie Nadal’s music video for her song “Bulong,” now we will witness how the two artists combine their song in one powerful mash-up.

But of course, doing a mash-up is not as easy as it sounds. Even veteran arranger Karel Honasan felt a bit challenged with the project because “Hanging Habagat” and “Bulong” are not simple songs to begin with.

“Napakalakas kasi nung parehong kanta so paano na hindi matatabunan ng isa ‘yung isa, so ‘yun yung pinaka-challenge ‘dun. Siguro ‘yung ginawa kong canvass ko ‘yung groove ‘nung kay Kitchie, pa’no ko i-incorporate yung kay Champ dun sa ganung setting,” he shared.

Kitchie Nadal was delighted after she heard the demo made by Karel.

“Yung reaction ko ano, unang-una natuwa ako kasi they kept, like how the ‘Bulong’ sounded and syempre sa akin madali rin ‘yun tapos hinaluan pa nila ng song ni Champ. Ok yung arrangement, I know everybody’s gonna be happy with that kind of arrangement,” she said.

Champ, on the other hand, revealed that there’s more to expect in the mash-up.

“Along the way we added some stuff so it’s gonna be interesting how the final product will end up,” he said.

And finally, after one month of collaboration, Champ and Kitchie Nadal perform the mash-up in “Volume Up!”

Champ and Kitchie described the whole Coke experience as something that they’ve never done before.

“Exciting! It’s not everyday you get to collaborate with a colleague so given this opportunity, we really exert a lot of effort to make it a good one,” Champ said.

“And for me, the first time I heard ‘Hanging Habagat’ I said ‘Sinong nagsulat nito ang galing, Totoo yan, totoo yan! Tapos sabi ko nga sa kanya [pointing to Champ] yung ‘Hanging Habagat’ I think is my favorite sa lahat ng mga nasulat niya,” Kitchie said.
