UP and Ateneo, Among Top 400 Best Universities in the World
The University of the Philippines and the Ateneo de Manila University are the only two PHL schools which made it to the Top 400 of the World’s Best Universities list for 2011.

U.S. News & World Report has released the new ranking of the Top 400 best colleges in the world based on Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty-Student Ratio, International Faculty, International Students, and Citations per Faculty.
Two Philippine schools made it to the Top 400.
With a score of 34.4, the University of the Philippines ranks 332nd in the world and 62nd in Asia.
The second of only two Philippine schools in the list is Ateneo de Manila University which ranks 360th in the world and 65th in Asia. Ateneo received a total score of 32.
The highest ranking Asian school is University of Hong Kong (HKU) which is no. 22 in the world with a score of 87. The highest ranking Southeast Asian school, meanwhile, is National University of Singapore (NUS) which ranks no. 28 in the world with a score of 84.1.
The world’s no.1 university, on the other hand, is University of Cambridge of the United Kingdom. The British school bested USA’s Harvard University which settled for no. 2.
