Zachary Quinto came out via a magazine interview and on his personal blog post which were both published on Sunday.

Zachary told New York Magazine that the thought of coming out was ignited by his role in the revival of “Angels in America,” where he played a man who abandoned his AIDS-stricken boyfriend.

“[The role was] the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor and the most rewarding, and at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.” he said.

The 34-year-old actor will next be seen in the upcoming suspense movie “Margin Call” and in a recurring role in Ryan Murphy‘s new TV series “American Horror Story.”
