ABS-CBN News Launches Weather SMS Service

Weather updates now available through texts.

Two years have passed since storm Ondoy left thousands of Filipino families homeless after it brought to Luzon nearly a month’s worth of rain in just six hours.

Don’t let this tragedy happen to your family or your loved ones and arm yourself with the greatest weapons you can use against any weather disturbance — information and preparedness.

With this need in mind, ABS-CBN News has launched WEATHER ON, which allows cell phone subscribers to get the latest weather and weather-related information as these become available.

This is possible by texting WEATHERON to 2366, for whatever network.

Upon subscribing to this text service on your mobile phones, you will get weather updates, such as typhoon alerts, or disruptions related to or caused by weather disturbances, such as class suspensions, and flooded areas.

Each batch of SMS costs P2.50 for Globe and Smart, and P2 for Sun.

Now you can be informed any time of the day, especially when there are weather disturbances that may cause flood, traffic, class or work suspension.
