Adobo Showdown in ‘Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition’

Top 20 kiddie cooks face first elimination on October 9.

Two of the Top 20 kiddie cooks will exit the culinary competition of the “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition” in its first ever elimination round this Sunday (October 9).

The six underperformers with the lowest cumulative scores from the cooking challenges will have to make their own adobo dishes to escape elimination. Catch how they will reinvent and add a twist to the classic Filipino recipe.

Who among the kiddie cooks will present scrumptious dishes such as adobong hito with Thai salad, adobong antigo, Spanish style chicken adobo, and adobong basil pasta? Whose unique adobo dish will dazzle host Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and chef judges Ferns, Lau, at Jayps?

But before the competitive cook-off and elimination, the Top 20 will go “back to basics” this Saturday (October 6) in a series of challenges that intends to showcase and improve their cooking skills.

The first challenge aims to gauge their ability in measuring ingredients, where they will have to extract a liter of juice from oranges without the aid of any measuring instrument.

The top 10 contenders will then enter a training-cum-challenge with Chef Lau where they will learn to peel and blanche tomatoes. From this round, five will be carried over to the next test where they will be tasked to make their own salad dressing.

The third test’s top performer will earn six points on the scoreboard, while the second and third placers will get four and two points, respectively.
