Andrea Mitchell Cancer Announcement, Tells Women to Be Screened of Breast Cancer

Andrea Mitchell cancer announcement on her show “Andrea Mitchell Reports” calls the attention of American Women to get screened. The veteran NBC correspondent and wife of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan announced on air last Wednesday saying it’s not yet malignant and her prognosis was excellent.

During her MSNBC show “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” the NBC correspondent said she’s now one of the 8 women in America who have breast cancer.

“I had planned to be hiking in Wyoming last week but instead discovered that I am among the one in eight women in the country – incredibly, one in eight – who have had breast cancer,” she said.

Andrea Mitchell, 64, said her cancer had been detected during routine screening, and urged women to get screened.

“Screening works,” she said. “Do it.”

Andrea Mitchell, however, gave no details on her treatment. She just said she was back at work.

Mitchell was born in New York City, New York. She married her second husband, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, in 1997. Previously, she was married to Gil Jackson; that marriage ended in divorce in the mid-1970s.
