Typhoon Mina Threatens Northern Luzon (PAGASA Update)

Typhoon Mina has intensified further and seriously threatens Northern Luzon area according to the 10:00 a.m. weather bulletin of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Tropical Depression “Mina” is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 150 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora (16.9°N, 123.7°E ) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 210 kph.

The weather bureau forecast shows that Mina is moving Northwest at 9 kph.

Saturday morning: Mina is expected to pass along the Northern tip of Cagayan or will be at 120 km Northeast of Tuguegarao City

Sunday morning: 30 km East Southeast of Basco, Batanes

Monday morning: 210 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals, Southern Luzon and Visayas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
