Virginia Quake Rattles Nearby States

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake rattled the ground of Richmond Virginia and it was felt in New York City, Washington D.C. and North Carolina on Tuesday.

Some buildings in New York was shook up compelling the people to evacuate the premises immediately.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was half a mile deep. It was centered near Louisa, Va., which is northwest of Richmond and south of Washington. Tremors were felt as far north as Rhode Island and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

No casualties or damage to properties were reported after the quake.
