Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., popularly known as Lil Wayne, is recovering after gashing his head at a St. Louis-area park on Monday, KTVI-TV reported.

The 28-year-old rapper was in suburban St. Louis Sunday for a performance at the outdoor Verizon Amphitheatre when the accident happened. Accompanied by a large entourage, Wayne was rushed at DePaul Health Center’s emergency room.

The hospital won’t confirm about the injuries that Lil Wayne got following the accident, citing privacy rules. However, the rapper wrote about it on his official Twitter account (@LilTunechi) saying he got 9 stitches:
